Willie Charles Childress, Jr., son of the late Willie Charles Childress, Sr. and Annie Sue Jones Childress, was born on Wednesday, May 25, 1949, in Braggadocio, MO and departed this life on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the Regional One Health - Medical Center in Memphis at the age of 75 years 6 months 1 day. Survivors include a son, Peter Childress & his wife, Mandy of Kennett; a daughter, Tina Wallace of Kennett; three brothers, Ed Childress & his wife, Eddie of Caruthersville, James Childress, Louis Childress & his wife, Della, all of Kennett; two sisters, Laura Rose of Bragg City, Ester Childress of Kennett; six grandchildren, Destiny Childress, Kierra Edmondson, David "Semo" Childress, Jr., Jesse Childress, Michael Thomas, Shakina Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Alicia Thomas, Daniel Thomas, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Goldie Childress & David Childress, Sr., three brothers, Frank, Bobby Joe, and Ellis Childress & four sisters, Gloria Dean Childress, Sarah Childress Mackfield, Alma Jean Jones, & Helen Childress. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the time of service. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
