Tommy Gene Miller, son of Irma Rouse Miller and the late Tommie Kelsey Miller, was born Monday, January 8, 1951 in Kennett, Missouri and departed this life Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti at the age of 69 years and 8 days. Tom loved God and  people.  He had been a radio announcer in Kennett, Caruthersville, and Poplar Bluff and also worked as a photographer.  He had a group of friends he would enjoy talking with at Hardees early every morning, he called it his “Hardee Party.”  He loved his church, First United Methodist Church where he attended many years in Kennett then he moved to Branson and made many friends there.  From Branson, he moved to Poplar Bluff for about a year then returned to Kennett.  Tommy’s heart and lungs gave out on him but, while he could he loved God, family and friends. He is survived by a son, Thomas Miller and his wife, Candi of Kennett; daughters, Melanie Ray and her husband, David of Kennett, Angela Bowling and her husband, Chris of Bloomfield; 5 grandchildren, Alex, Jacob, & Halayna Ray, Kayla & C. J. Bowling; brothers, Kelsey D. Miller and his wife, Ruie of Tacoma, Washington, Larry D. Miller ofKennett, Nicky Miller of Kennett; sisters, Arletta Kay Roberts and her husband, Darrell of Kennett and Mary E. Smith of Kennett. He was preceded in death by his father, Tommie Kelsey Miller, his sister, Delola Sue Campbell and a brother, Terry Joe Miller. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2020 at the Cross Way Church, 1840 Independence Circle, Kennett with Reverend Daniel & Frannie Evans officiating. Burial will be in the Pine City Cemetery, Holcomb. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
