Terry James Watson

View Funeral Webcast Terry James Watson, son of the late Leonard Watson and Shirley Waynick Watson, was born on Sunday, September 30, 1951, in St. Louis, and departed this life on Monday, February 7, 2022, at the Arkansas Continued Care Hospital in Jonesboro at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 8 days. Terry was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Kennett. He was a member of the Missouri Army National Guard having served in Iraq in 2003. He retired after 24 years of service. He had worked for Emerson Electric having retired after 40 years. In 2011, he started working for Bean Farmers. He was a member of the Kennett Masonic Lodge #68 AF&AM. He loved his family and enjoyed his grandchildren very much. Survivors include his wife, Mona Watson of the home in Holcomb; sons, Chris Watson & his wife, PJ of Miamisburg, OH, Todd Watson & his wife, Jana of Kennett; grandchildren, Joshua Watson, Ava Watson, Michael Grisham & his wife, Dee, Analeese Grisham, all of Kennett; great-granddaughter, Annalee Grisham; sisters, Paula Huskey & her husband, Michael of Ozark, MO, Sherry Parker & her husband, Jeff of Nixa, MO; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Garry Watson. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett with Reverend Kevin Swain officiating. Visitation will begin there at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, 4400 Clayton Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110 or Missouri Veteran's Home, 2400 Veterans Memorial Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701 The family request mask be worn during visitation and service.
