Teressa Yvette Lufcy, of Kennett, MO, was born on December 18, 1957, and peacefully went to rest on September 12, 2026, at the age of 68 years with her beloved daughters by her side. Teressa grew up on a farm, where her childhood was filled with adventures, memories, and stories that stayed with her throughout her life. She attended school in Rector, Arkansas, and carried with her the simple joys that came from growing up surrounded by family and country life. She loved football and was a devoted St. Louis Rams fan until they moved back to Los Angeles, at which point she quickly transferred her loyalty to the New Orleans Saints. She loved music and enjoyed going to concerts, with Dolly Parton and Tina Turner holding a special place in her heart. She had a particular fondness for all things Pioneer Woman, made the best chocolate cake, and could make a really good margarita. Christmas was especially important to Teressa. She loved making the holiday special for her family and created traditions and memories that will continue to be cherished. She also enjoyed a good debate, particularly when it came to politics, and some of her favorite arguments were with her son-in-law, Matt. Above all else, Teressa was deeply loving and devoted to her family. She would do anything for the people she loved, often putting their needs before her own and willingly going without if it meant someone else had what they needed. Her love was generous, steadfast, and unconditional. She will be remembered not only for the things she loved, but for the way she made the people around her feel loved. Teressa is preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Rosalee Edwards; her siblings Gary Fox, Donna Edwards, and Tommy Edwards; and her favorite niece Lisa Edwards. She is survived by her husband of 44 years John Lufcy of Kennett; daughters Ashley (Matt Bibbs) and Jeana Lufcy, both of Kennett; along with 5 grandcats and 3 granddogs. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements. | |
