Shanta Welton

Shanta Carmale Welton, son of Doris Johnson(George Johnson) and the late Sammy Curtis McClorn, was born on Friday, January 25, 1980 in Kennett and departed this life on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould at the age of 41 years, 9 months and 2 days. Shanta was a graduate of Kennett High School Class of 1998. He enjoyed sports, being with his children and watching movies. He leaves to cherish his memory his ex-wife, Shaunta Jones; his children, Shanta Welton, Christopher Welton, Micah Welton, Ashunti Welton, all of Kennett; mother & step-father, Doris Johnson & George Johnson of Kennett; sisters, Tanya Welton of Jefferson City, MO, Philisha Stewart & her husband, Joseph of Kennett, Earlene McClorn of Caruthersville; brother, Adrain Welton of Marion, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, a great niece and many friends. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett. Visitation will begin there at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Willoughby Cemetery in Kennett. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
