With deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Nathan Scott Branum, a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, cherished brother, loyal friend, and true Kennett native. Scott passed away peacefully at his home in Kennett, Missouri after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, on the morning of August 4, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him most. Born on November 2, 1966, in Kennett, Scott was the son of Billy Don and Brenda Carol Branum. He graduated from Kennett High School in 1985, the same year he married the love of his life, Angela. Their love story was one of unwavering partnership, mutual respect, and enduring devotion-celebrating 40 beautiful years of marriage this past June. Together, Scott and Angela raised three wonderful children and built a life centered around faith, family, and community. He was a constant presence in the lives of his children and grandchildren, the kind of father and "Poppy" who showed up-whether it was cheering from the stands at a baseball game, offering a quiet word of wisdom, or sharing a laugh over dinner. Scott built a lasting career in the auto parts business. working for Dixie Auto Parts, O'Reilly Auto & Tire Parts, and NAPA Auto Tire & Parts, among others. He was known for his honesty, and gift for making connections with people from all walks of life. Customers became friends, coworkers became family. A lifelong member of the Slicer Street Church of Christ, Scott's faith was the foundation of his character. He led with kindness, lived with humility, and loved without reservation. Scott was also a passionate unwavering supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals, a fierce fantasy football and fantasy baseball competitor, and a devoted coach and fan of his kids and grandkids baseball journeys. Nothing brought him more joy than being surrounded by his family, whether in the bleachers or around the dinner table. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, faith, and friendship. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Don and Brenda Carol Branum; his grandparents, Willie and Thelma Branum and John and Nadine "Susie" Morris, his father-in-law, Millard Kizer, his aunt, Sheila Clark and his nephew, Joshua Grambling. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Slicer Street Church of Christ in Kennett, Missouri A celebration of Scott's life will follow at 2:00 p.m., with Leon Jackson officiating.
