Rita Gene Pickard, daughter of Ella Deering Alexander Wade, was born on Wednesday, May 20, 1959, in Kennett and departed this life on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett at the age of 65 years 10 months 17 days. Rita was a longtime employee of Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center having worked there as a registered nurse for over 30 + years. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. On July 9, 1988, in Kennett, she was united in marriage to Dennis Pickard. He survives of their home in Kennett. Other survivors include a daughter, Brittany Barton & husband, Derrick of Kennett; a son, Danny Nixon, II & wife, Kassie of Kennett; mother, Ella Wade of Kennett; sister, Melanie Folkes & husband, Donnie of Kennett; grandchildren, Steven Doherty, Ryan Nixon, Jordan Barton-Ray & husband, Kevin, EJ McCray, Grace Nixon; great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Brantley, John Wyatt, Jackson, Maybell, Kolton; nephew, Alex Privett & wife, Tesslah; many other relatives and close friends She was preceded in death by her father, Arlie Alexander and a daughter, Brandi Nixon. Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett with Reverend Doug Clinton officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. and continue until the time of service. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
