Rickey Lee Adams Sr.

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Rickey "Rick" Adams Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend from Kennett, Missouri. Rick departed this life on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Puxico Nursing and Rehab in Puxico, MO, at the age of 56. His final moments were spent peacefully, surrounded by his family, listening to "Free Bird." Rick entered this world on August 29, 1968, in St. Louis, Missouri, born to the late Robert and Myrtle Adams. Throughout his life, Rick applied his talents as a skilled auto body repairman. He also possessed a deep love for music and was known for his skillful guitar playing. Rick's heart belonged to his family; he treasured his sons and absolutely adored his grandchildren, taking every opportunity to share his pride and stories about them. Left to carry on his memory are his three sons and their children; Rickey Adams Jr. and his children, Whytni, Natalie, Rowan, and Willow; Cory Adams and his children, Laithen, Lundynn, and Logan; and Bradley "BJ" Adams and his children, Rosaleigha, Gabriel, and Lydia. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Allen Adams, Patty Ross, Bobby Adams, Larry Adams, Harold Adams, Gerald Adams, and Kerri Phipps. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Myrtle Adams, and his brothers Kenny Peppers, Jimmy Adams, and Bradley Adams. A service to remember and celebrate Rick's life will be held Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Friends are welcome to gather for visitation starting at 12:00 p.m. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
