Murel Jones, son of the late Goldie Belle Jones, was born on Sunday, June 28, 1936 in Kennett and departed this life on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at his residence in Kennett at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 13 days. On September 24, 1961 in Rector, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Patricia Smith. She preceded him in death on August 27, 2011. He was a retired business owner and member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Keith Jones and his wife, Angie of Kennett; granddaughters, Kayli Jones of Marked Tree, Arkansas, Mallori Cline and her husband, Justin of Kennett, Lyndi Jones of Kennett; great-grandson, Kross Jones Cline; brother, Ralph Jones of St. Louis; sister, Phyllis Pelts of Overland Park, Kansas; caregiver, Sharon Cato of Kennett; other relatives and many friends. Graveside Services will be held Sunday, June 14, 2020, 2:00 p.m. at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Kennett.
