Mollie Groves, daughter of the late Tom Christopher Brandon and Cora Lee Brice Brandon, was born on Thursday, January 30, 1930, in Canalou, Missouri and departed this life on Friday, May 24, 2024, at NHC of Kennett at the age of 94 years 3 months 25 days. She had been a Librarian at Delta C-7 Schools in Deering for many years and a long-time member of the Bakerville Church of Christ. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. On September 18, 1948, in Piggott, AR she was united in marriage to Dan A. Groves. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2008. Survivors include a son, Jack Groves of Gideon; a daughter, Debra Groves of Bragg City; grandchildren, Chelsea Groves of Gideon, Cody Groves & wife, Meredith of St. Genevieve, MO, Laura Hargrove of Kennett, Jonny Groves of Wakefield, Kansas, Jeff Laden & wife, Kristy of Kennett, Trask Laden of Kennett, Roland Tijerina of Jonesboro, Ricki Groves of Paragould, AR; great-grandchildren, Jett Groves, Samantha & John Groves, Taylor Hargrove; sister, Rosale Owen of Kennett, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dan A. Groves, two sons, Ron & Ricky Groves, a grandson, Andy Tijerina, three brothers, Buddy, Dempsey & Tommy Brandon and five sisters, Lois Tucker, Lorene Dunaway, Luella Wilson, Jewell Brown and Kathryn Sprouse. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and continue until the time of service. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett. Pallbearers will be Dennis Owen, Danny Brandon, Roland Tijerina, Jeff Laden, & Hunter Kinnard.
