View Funeral Webcast Metz Keim Skelton, son of the late Samuel Edgar Skelton and Lena Evans Skelton, was born on Tuesday, April 21, 1936, and departed this life on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at his residence in Kennett at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 25 days. Metz was a civil engineer having owner and operated Skelton & Associates in Kennett for many years. In addition, he had served as Dunklin County Surveyor and the City Engineer of Kennett. On March 2, 1956, he was united in marriage to Rowena Harris. She survives of the home in Kennett. Other survivors include a son, Christopher Skelton and his wife, Kenna of Kennett; two daughters, Rena Ingram & Sherri Hamlett, both of Kennett; six grandchildren, Cody Skelton, Tyler Ingram, Jereme Hamlett, Keisha Pattillo, Taylor Skelton, Samuel Skelton; six great-grandchildren, Ketcher Pattillo, Ralley Pattillo, Kappy Pattillo, Jace Hamlett, Nova Hamlett, Tatum Finnell; uncle, Jim Skelton of Huntsville, AL; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Nicholas Skelton, brothers, Max, Mike, Pat Andy Skelton and a sister, Thelma Harris. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett with Mr. James Powell officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Kennett. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, to Shriners Hospital for Children, or to the Wounded Warrior Project. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
