Melba Jean Hopkins, daughter of the late Gerald and Modest Stallons Burke, was born on Friday, August 26, 1941 in Deering, MO and departed this life on Friday, November 20, 2020 at her residence in Kennett at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 24 days. On August 29, 1959 in Wayne, Michigan, she was united in marriage to Clinton Hopkins. Melba, along with her husband, Reverend Clinton Hopkins, pastored many churches during their marriage. Survivors include her husband, Reverend Clinton Hopkins of the home in Kennett; daughters, Tracey Stubblefield & her husband, Jerry of Kennett, Laura Darnell & her husband, Kevin of Poplar Bluff, Tiffany Clark & her husband, Jeff of Kennett; 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; also surviving are 4 half-brothers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers. Due to Covid-19, the family will have a private memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
