Mary Alford Phillips

Mary Alford Phillips, daughter of the late Billy Jim Alford and Betty Taylor Alford, was born on Saturday, November 22, 1958, in Kennett, MO and departed this life on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the Springs of Premier Health & Rehabilitation Center in North Little Rock, AR at the age of 65 years 10 months 8 days. "Ms. Mary" is what she was called by many, Mary Ann had a passion for kids, in which she was a HeadStart teacher, a daycare provider and a neighborhood mother to many people for many years; Mary Ann had more kids than she birthed. Mary was known for her warm heart, her sarcasm, and her welcoming smile. She was sweet, supportive, and had a huge heart for others, no matter what she was going through she always showed her concern for others. Mary Ann will be remembered by her love for reality TV; especially My 600 Pound Life. Mary loved to cook and was known for her dressing and catfish, no one could make them like her, Mary loved to talk on the phone and never missed a chance to gossip or make you laugh. Mary is preceded in death by her mother, Betty Alford; father, Billy Alford; grandson, Jordan Roberts. Mary leaves to cherish her memories her children, Tameika (James) Williams of Maumelle, AR, Shanequa Alford of Kennett, MO and Maranda (James) Randolph of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Nikeya Alford of Memphis, TN, Dashyrin Alford of Maumelle, AR, Tynekia Alford of Kennett, MO, E'Nyya Harrell of Kennett, MO, and Brentley Martin of little Rock, AR; great-grandchild, Zaylin Alford of Kennett, MO; sisters Dorthy Mae Johnson (Benny) of Kennett, MO, Linda Alford-Taylor (Keith) of Chicago, IL, and Janie Morris of Kennett, MO; brothers, Anthony White and Clarence Jones, both of Kennett, MO, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the time of service. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Kennett. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
