Mary Louise Barnes 74, of Kennett, Missouri passed away peacefully while home on October 27, 2024. Born on January 14, 1950 to the late Jimmy Scott Sr., and Linnie Ruth Barbee in Durhamville Orysn, Tennessee. Mary was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She dedicated her life to her family, and her Church family serving others while serving God. Mary attended Lauderdale High School, Class of 1968. Mary was a very hard, and determined working woman in her lifetime. Mary worked at the Tupperware Factory in Tennessee, Brown Shoe Factory in Caruthersville, Mo, as a CNA for many years at the Caruthersville Nursing Home, she worked for Smith & Associates as a homecare worker while working at Emerson Electric in Kennett, Mo until the closing of the Factory. Mary worked at Custom Steele, then worked at The Haven in Kennett, MO where she ended her work history in 2013. Mother Mary always stayed busy working for her family. Mother Mary gave her life to the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age, and later rededicated her life back to the Lord in the early 90's. Mary began attending and joined the Church of Jesus Christ Congregational in 1992. She served as the Church secretary, treasurer, the women's board, pastor aid committee and Sunday school teacher for over ten years. Mother Mary attended the Church faithfully until her health began to change. Mother Mary is survived by her husband of 57 years, Milton Eugene Barnes of Ripley, Tennessee. Her two children Shandra Shinetta Barnes Crook (Rodney) of Kennett, MO, Clayton Eugene Barnes of Kennett, MO, Jessica (Fred) Barnes Patterson granddaughter, of Kennett, MO, Travis Owens, of Syracuse, New York, Ashley Guyton of Kennett, MO, and Jaime Woods of Kennett, MO along with 14 other grand-children, and 22 great-grandchildren. Mother Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: Susan Turner, Pearl Douglas, Jimmy Scott, and Ardell Reed Robinson. Her two daughters Virginia Lee Barnes, and Tracey Diane Barnes Craison. Mary had a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, Church members that she loved dearly, with a special cousin, friend, and sister in Christ Dorothy Johnson of Kennett, MO, and Dorothy Russell, of Jefferson City, MO She will be remembered for kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. Her legacy of love, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. The last years of her Mother Mary's life, her best friend and caregiver was her granddaughter Jessica Barnes Patterson.
