Linda Sue (Bowling) Strother was born on Monday, March 13, 1944, in Bragg City, Missouri to the late Oscar and Marie (Jones) Bowling and she departed this life on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett at the age of 79 years 9 months 22 day. She was married to her surviving husband, Jimmie Strother on September 3, 1965, in Bragg City, Missouri. She was an amazing mother of 2 children, a son, Michael Strother and his wife, Carrie of Kennett, Missouri and a daughter, Dana (Strother) Blankenship and her husband, Marc of Bragg City, Missouri; 5 Grandchildren: Collin (Sarah) Strother, Carson (Emily) Strother, Casidy (Dusty) Hamlett, Maria (Trevor) Shaver and Alexa (Lance) Bowman; 2 Great-Grandchildren due in April 2024, Baby Boy Drake Alan Shaver and Baby Girl Baylor Paige Hamlett. Brothers, Ronnie Bowling, Steve Bowling and the late Jeffery Bowling. Sisters, Shirley Nitz and Connie Riley. Linda was an active member of the Slicer Street Church of Christ, she and Jimmie were the owners of Strother Sod Farm in Bragg City, Missouri for many years. She enjoyed time with family, especially her grandchildren, and loved having them around her special made dining table big enough for everyone to gather around to eat or play games. Linda began her journey with ovarian cancer November 15, 2014. During her fight she touched so many lives through her positive attitude and her willingness to do whatever it took to make the best of this terribly difficult journey. Day by day, complication after complication she faced everyday knowing God had a plan for her and with a brave face, she fought without complaining and with such dignity and pride. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith..." Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett with Mr. Jay Lyles and Mr. James Powell officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. and continue until the time of service. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. Pallbearers will be Collin Strother, Carson Strother, Trevor Shaver, Dusty Hamlett, Lance Bowman, and Larry Strother. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
