Leroy Shepard, son of the late Dan Shepard and Cora Marie Eakins Shepard, was born on Sunday, April 18, 1937 in Rector, AR and departed this life on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at St Bernard Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 13 days. Leroy Shepard had worked as a truck driver and was a veteran of the United States Army and United States Air Force. Survivors include sons, Troy Shepard & his wife, Ann of Rector, AR, David Shepard & his wife, Loretta of Kennett; daughter, Theresa Cannon & her husband, Judd of Kennett; mother of his children, Linda Shepard of Kennett; grandchildren, Tara Hester & her husband, Jacob of Rector, AR, Christy Noles & her husband, Charles of Rector, AR, Bryan Allen Smith & Bobby Allen Smith of West Memphis, AR, Tyler Shepard & his wife, Maggie of Kennett, Kami Shepard Bowen & her husband, Chris of Kennett, Luke Cannon of Kennett; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Billy Shepard of Cherry Valley, AR; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Floyd, Jimmy & Bobby Shepard; sisters, Mary Lou Herren, Betty Jo Barker, Ernestine Nixon, Shirley Dwyer, Sue Jones, Earline Mack. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett. Visitation will begin there at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
