Laverne Hudson

Laverne Hudson, daughter of the late King Mitchell and Eddie Mae Mitchell, was born on Friday, February 13, 1959, and departed this life on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro AR at the age of 64 years 10 months 28 days. Survivors include sons; George (Sonia) Mitchell, Brian (Jessica) Mitchell, Augustus Mitchell, Johnathon (Erin) Mitchell, daughters; Shalecia (Emeka) Samuel, Krista Mitchell, Sherry Hudson, brothers; Lee Roy Mitchell, Jonathon Mitchell, 20 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and many more family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, King and Eddie Mitchell, daughters; Mary Hudson, Brianna Hudson, brother; Edward Mitchell, and sisters, Shirleen Mitchell, Mary Gordmon. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 12:00p.m. at Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the time of services. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Hayti. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
