View Funeral Webcast LaVene Morrison Powell, daughter of the late William Torrey Morrison and Martha Elizabeth Stroud Morrison, was born on Tuesday, March 17, 1936, in Salem, AR and departed this life on Monday, August 1, 2022, at her residence at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 15 days. LaVene was a dental assistant having worked with Dr. Russ Burcham for over 33 years. She was a member of the Westside Church of Christ in Kennett On August 20, 1977, she was united in marriage to Robert E. Powell. He survives of the home in Kennett. Other survivors include her nieces & nephews, Norma Music, Patsy & Ray Smith, Wilma & Ken English, Tom & Jill Morrison, Torrey Morrison, Tim & Lindsay Morrison, Tammie & Bill Summers, Rick Morrison, Tanis & Bruce Robinson, Kindra Cooley, Ann & Doug Sims, Scott & Janet Morrison, Jim & Melissa Morrison, Karen & Tim Riley, Cheryl & Jon Spare, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Clyde, Dale, & Dean Morrison, 7 sisters, Jessie Harper, Opal Miller, Veda Ross, Garnetta Cooley, Fern George, Faye Knotts and Georgia Hancock. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett with Mr. Dwight Harrison officiating. Visitation will begin there at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
