Larry “Rabbit” Allen, a resident of Clarkton, MO., son of Robert and Myrtle (Nelson) Allen, was born on Tuesday, July 29, 1947, in Peach Orchard, MO. He departed this life on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, MO at the age of 76 years 2 months 10 days. Larry grew up and lived in Clarkton most of his life. He graduated from Clarkton High School in 1966. Larry was a Veteran of our great country. Larry joined the United States Army on October 19, 1966. He served until being honorably discharged on October 18, 1968. Larry was a bricklayer for many years until his employment with Briggs and Stratton in Poplar Bluff, MO. Larry retired from Briggs and Stratton at the age of 62. Survivors include his daughters; Nikki Whitt of Campbell, MO, Traci Allen (Samantha) of Dixon, CA, Brittni St. Mary (Barrett) of Portageville, MO., brother; Bobby Allen (Wanda) of Camdenton, MO., sister; Bonnie Foley of Versailles, KY. He had seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Myrtle Allen, Siblings; Shirley Allen of Clarkton, MO., Mayrene Johnson of Clarkton, MO., Sharon Sill of Malden, MO., and Mamie Johnson of Gideon, MO. There will be a private service held for family at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, MO. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
