Kelly John Speakes, son of Curtis "Butch" and Phyllis Speakes, a resident of Kennett, was born Thursday, June 6, 1968, and departed this life on Thursday, May 23, 2024. at his residence at the age of 55 years 11 months 17days. On August 5, 2000, Kelly was united in marriage to Jennifer Foster. Kelly had a love for teaching and his students. Beginning his teaching career in 2009, Kelly had taught in Senath, Senath-Hornersville, Southland, and Hayti R2. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Speakes of the home, daughter; Lili Godwin, mother; Phyllis Speakes, and brother Tracy and wife Sarah Speakes all of Kennett, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his father Curtis "Butch" Speakes, and sister, Shari Blankenship. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, 11:00am to 2:00pm at 19443 County Road 522, Kennett, MO. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
