Kelley Lynn Shultz, a resident of Kennett, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, with her devoted partner, John Smith, by her side.
Born Kelley Lynn Letcher on Tuesday, June 8, 1965, in Madison, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of James Leroy and Judith Grace Letcher. In 1977, her family moved from Mentor, Ohio, to Baltimore, Maryland, where Kelley formed many of the lifelong friends and memories she cherished. Her mother later married Albert "Bert" Straus, who joined the family in lovingly remembering Kelley today.
Kelley worked for her family's printing business in Hunt Valley, Maryland, and later held a variety of positions, including managing a small apartment complex. She was known for her quick wit, vivid storytelling, and love of music, and she kept her father's spirit of humor and kindness alive in the way she cared for others.
Kelley leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and resilience. She is survived by her loving partner, John Smith; her mother, Judith Letcher; her stepfather, Albert Straus; and her sisters, Stacey Killeen and Ellen Letcher. She is also survived by her niece and nephew, Maggie and Paddy Killeen; her beloved aunt and uncle, Mary and Urban Lariccia; and many dear friends who will miss her light, laughter, and stories. She was preceded in death by her father, James Leroy Letcher.
Memorial Service will be held for Kelley on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Baltimore, Maryland, where family and friends will gather to share memories and music in her honor.
