Keith Mitchell

Keith Mitchell, son of the late B. J. Mitchell and Gladys Johnson Mitchell, was born on Monday, August 8, 1938 in Senath, MO and departed this life on Monday, May 17, 2021 at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 9 days. Keith Mitchell was a long-time Kennett businessman having owned & operated Mitchell Drugstore, located on the Kennett square, for many years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kennett, a member of the Kennett Rotary Club, a member of the Kennett Masonic Lodge #68 since 1962, a past board member of the Kennett Board of Public Works and a supporter of the Kennett Humane Department. He was a great friend to the Kennett Community. His generosity will always be remembered. On March 12, 1975, he was united in marriage to Robbin Roman. Survivors include his wife, Robbin Roman Mitchell of the home; sons, Brian Mitchell & his wife, Candy of Kennett, Dr. Blake Mitchell & his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Wyatt Mitchell of Madison, MS, Damon Scott Holligan of Nashville, TN; daughter, Meegan Mitchell Helmuth & her husband, Steven of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Garrett Mitchell Jones, Riley Catherine Jones, Kallen Mitchell, Mira Mitchell, Shayla Holligan; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Kerri Mitchell Jones, and grandmother, Pearl Johnson. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Kennett. Visitation will begin there at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kennett Humane Department, 200 Cedar Street, Kennett, MO 63857. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
