Jolene Cannon Poole of Kennett passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the age of 84 years 5 months 25 days. Born on December 6, 1941, in Kennett she was the daughter of the late Everett and Lorene Cannon.
Jolene married Jerry Poole of Kennett on December 29, 1959. They were the last couple married in Dunklin County in the decade of the 1950's. Jolene was a homemaker who always worked hard on the farm alongside Jerry. She drove bob trucks, built cotton modules & managed their home with incredible efficiency.
Jolene's favorite hobby was tennis. She was a fierce competitor. She and Jerry won many tennis titles as a mixed couple pairing in the 1970's & 1980's.
Jolene is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jerry, along with her children, Sarah (Andy) Malone of Kennett, Matthew (Teresa) Poole of Kennett, Gina (Tim) Osmer of Humboldt, TN. She is also survived by her sisters, Brenda Ray of Jonesville, LA and Alice Pedigo of Piggott, AR and her brother, David Cannon of Kennett.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Bennie Cannon.
Jolene has five grandchildren, Jordan (Bud) Floyd, of Charleston, SC, Jody (Matt) Cole of Piggott, AR, Lora Osmer of Humboldt, TN, Alex (Robert) Quattrone, of Jonesboro, AR, & John Clinton Poole of Kennett. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, Braylen & Axil Gore, Audrey Jolene Thomason, Jack, Eli & Everett Cole.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett with Brother Doug Clinton officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. and continue until the time of service. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Poole, John Clinton Poole, Tommy Linam, Robert Quattrone, Andy Malone & Doug Cannon.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to NHC Recreational Fund, 1120 Falcon Drive, Kennett, MO 63857.
