Johny Wayne Black

Johny Wayne Black, son of Rickie C. Black and the late Carolyn F. Cotner Black, was born on Sunday, January 4, 1976, in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at his residence in Kennett at the age of 50 years 2 days.

He was employed with the Greenbrier Rail Services in Kennett.

On November 7, 2020, in Kennett he was united in marriage to Jo Ann Bridges.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Black of their home in Kennett; his father, Rickie Black & his wife, Susan of Clarkton, Missouri; his son, Justin Dane; his brother, Jasen Black & his wife, Kim of Malden, Missouri, three grandchildren, 5 nieces, 2 great-nephews, other relatives and many friends.   

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Cotner Black and his grandmother, Lois Edwards.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and continue until the time of service.
