John Louis Lemons, Jr.

John Louis Lemons, Jr, affectionately known as “Boo Boo” by his closest friends and family, entered into eternal rest in the early hours of Sunday, August 23, 2026, in Hayti, MO.

John Louis Lemons, Jr was born in Caruthersville, on February 20, 1962, to Imagene and John Louis Lemons Sr. He grew up in Hermondale, MO, where he developed a great work ethic, and a fondness of working with his hands on the family farm and helping his father with carpentry and mechanic work. After graduating from Senath-Hornersville High School, he immediately entered the workforce. John loved to joke, laugh and have a good time. He had a personality that could light up any room and whenever he walked in, laughter was sure to follow. His sense of humor, storytelling and ability to make one laugh was a special part of who he was which will be remembered by those who knew him. John was a proud and devoted father to his children and a loving grandfather to his grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish in his memory his children Brachel (Charles) Jones of Statesboro, Georgia. Tanesha Lemons of San Jose, California, Bryan Deshune Lemons of Kennett, Mo. and Jeremy (Carol) Mhoon of Jonesboro, Ar. His sisters, Diane Ferguson, Rosemary Lemons, Beverly Lemons, Brenda Lemons, Melissa (Renaldo) Denham of Kennett, Mo. and Tammie Lemons of San Jose, California. Twelve grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends whom he loved deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Louis Lemons Sr and Imagene Duckworth Lemons and his brother, Joe Eddie Lemons.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in Yarbro, Arkansas.
