Joey Allen Roper, son of James Roper and the late Georgia Gage Roper, was born on Sunday, June 8, 1980, in Kennett and departed this life on Monday, June 26, 2023, at his residence at the age of 43 years and 18 days. He was an employee of the Colson Group in Monette, Arkansas. Joey was known by many as "Slab Daddy Jo Jo." He was a lover of the outdoors enjoying fishing every chance he got. He couldn't wait for deer season to start and to get out on a stand. He never met a stranger and would always make you smile. Joey is survived by his father, James Roper and Ann Everhart of Kennett; brother, Matt Roper & his wife, Christy of Kennett; sisters, Tabatha Roper of Sikeston, Tiffany Harris & her husband, Trevor of Bono, AR, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Gage Roper, grandparents, Marvin & Beatrice (Pate) Roper, Junior & Imogene (Welker) Gage and many aunts and uncles.
