Joe Marion Simmons

Joe Marion Simmons, son of the late Joseph Daniel & Eddie Pauline Connell Simmons, was born on Wednesday, November 21, 1934, in Gibson County, TN and departed this life on Monday, May 29, 2023 at NHC Healthcare in Kennett at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 8 days. He retired from the US Postal Service after 35 years, then returned in the workforce, working at Jewel Supermarket. He also served his county with the US Army. Joe is survived by one brother, Richard L. Simmons; cousin, Rose Hartwell; second cousin, Tina Privett; many first and second cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Simmons. Graveside services were held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Kenton, TN.
