Joe Wayne Riggs

Joe Wayne Riggs, son of the late Taft Riggs and Violet Capell Riggs, was born on Sunday, October 26, 1941, in Bragg City and departed this life on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at NHC HealthCare in Kennett at the age of 82 years 2 months 25 days. Joe, a graduate of Deering High School, had owned and operated Joe Riggs Heating & Cooling in Kennett and was a member of the Calvary General Baptist Church in Kennett. On November 9, 2003, in Kennett, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Pruitt. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Pruitt Riggs of the home; son, Greg Riggs of Ohio; daughter, Kim Collier of Ohio; sisters, Lavonda Rouse of Jonesboro, AR, Theresa Wilson of Kennett, Phyllis Blankenship & her husband, Jimmy of Kennett, 7 grandchildren and other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Charles Edward Riggs and sisters, Mildred Catherine Pendergrass and Bonnie Stark. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett with Pastor Chris Kennedy officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm and continue until the time of service. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
