Jimmie Earl Blackburn

Jimmie Earl Blackburn, son of the late B. S. Blackburn and Essie Lucille Madison Blackburn, was born on Tuesday, January 18, 1938 in Rives, MO and departed this life on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 21 days. On September 24, 1973 in Poplar Bluff, MO, he was united in marriage to Shirley Neighbors. She preceded him in death on May 14, 2019. Survivors include sons; Phillip Blackburn & his wife, Julie of Branson, MO, Jimmy Blackburn & his wife, Teri of Jonesboro; Brent Blackburn & his wife, Christie of Hornersville; daughter, Teresa Brown & her husband, Todd of Taneyville, MO; step-son, Eddie "Bud" Buck & his wife, Beth of Tuscaloosa, AL; step-daughters, Anita Smith & her husband, Steve of Kennett, Tina Jones of Hornersville; several grandchildren & great-grandchildren; sister, Gerria Bailey of Decatur, AL. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Horner Cemetery in Hornersville. Burial will be in the Horner Cemetery in Hornersville. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
