Jessie Laden

View Funeral Webcast Jessie Laden, son of the late William Edgar Laden and Bertha Mae Merriman Laden, was born on Thursday, December 17, 1936, in Kennett and departed this life on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 85 years and 4 days. Jessie Laden was a farm laborer. He attended Okeena Assembly Church in Bragg City, MO. On March 7, 1977, he was united in marriage to Alma Jean Bailey. She preceded him in death on January 14, 2017. Survivors include daughters, Dollie Laden of Kennett, Retha Groves of Kennett, Marie Birmingham of Clarkton, MO; son, Lonnie Orr of Greenway; 7 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; sister, Glenda Lorene Davidson of Bernie; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jessie Don Laden, brother, Clarence Edgar Laden and sisters, Elizabeth Gaskins and Minnie Leoma Robinson. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett with Reverend Phillip Bartholomew and Reverend Herbert Robinson officiating. Visitation will begin there at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
