View Funeral Webcast Jeris Mae Bass Warrington was born to Dave and Aslee (Cook) Bass on Wednesday, May 1, 1935, in Kennett, Missouri and went to her eternal mansion on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 21 days. She leaves behind to mourn her loss a daughter, Jan (John) Robertson; a son, Jim (Sherry) Warrington; a brother, Paul (Sandy) Bass; four granddaughters, Lindsay (Josh) Smith, Jill (Craig) Rickman, Jaime (Daniel) Black, and Jonna (Jonas) Payne, and five great-grandchildren, Amelia, Ivy, and Owen Smith, Lyndy Rickman, Lucille and Naomi Black, and Jaeleigh Beth Payne. She held a special relationship with her nieces and nephews, and loved ones Carol Powell, Johnny Mack Powell, and James Powell. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Rickey Bass, and son, Ken Warrington. Jeris was a life-long member of Slicer Street Church of Christ where she was an avid worker in the Dorcas Ministry. Growing up in Kennett, Jeris played on the Kennett High School women's basketball team and won many District and State accolades. After many years as a public servant for Dunklin County, Jeris was elected to the office of Dunklin County Treasurer and Ex-Officio Collector. She was the first woman to hold this position. You may have known her as the voice of the Delta Fair. Jeris worked for over 20 years in the information Booth during fair week. Services will be held at Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett, Missouri on Sunday, February 26, 2023. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Johnny Hester and Brother James Powell officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. Pallbearers will be Craig Rickman, Jonas Payne, Josh Smith, Daniel Black, Scott Bass, and Gregg Bass. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sonny Bolin, Jake Callewaert, and the Elders and Deacons of the Slicer Street Church of Christ. The family would like to thank Legacy Hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to your favorite charity or the Dorcas Ministry at Slicer Street Church of Christ. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
