Jean Louise Mitchell, daughter of the late Orbis Stephens and Ellie Mae Whitaker Stephens, was born on Monday, July 21, 1941, in Gideon, Missouri and departed this life on Monday, April 3, 2023, at her residence in Kennett at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 13 days. Survivors include sons, Richard Mitchell & Jason Mitchell, both of Kennett, James Houston Mitchell, Jr. of Texas; daughter, Barbara Rud & her husband, Jimmy of Dysart, Iowa; three grandchildren, Ranae, Jimi Shawn, Joshua; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Glen Stephens of Illinois, Loren Stephens of Dyersburg, TN; sister, Reva Vaughn of Dyersburg, TN, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Earnest Stephens and two sisters, Corrine Camp and Patricia Hines. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett with Loren Stephens officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until time of service. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
