James Allen Roper

James Roper, son of the late Marvin Roper and Beatrice Pate Roper, was born on Sunday, February 17, 1957, in Kennett and departed this life on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center at the age of 65 years 11 months 20 days. He was united in marriage to Georgia Elizabeth Gage. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2010. Survivors include his companion, Ann Everhart of Kennett; son, Matthew Roper & his wife, Christy of Kennett; two daughters, Tabatha Roper of Sikeston, Tiffany Harris & her husband, Trevor of Bono, AR; 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Glen Roper of Arnold, MO; sister, Carolyn Bartley of High Ridge, MO, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Gage Roper, his parents, a son, Joey Allen Roper and two brothers, Albert & Charles Roper. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. and continue until time of service. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
