James Wesley Ray

James Wesley Ray, son of the late Raymond and Pauline Carter Ray, was born on Thursday, June 11, 1936, in Holcomb and departed this life on Friday, December 29, 2023, at NHC of Kennett at the age of 87 years 6 months 18 days. James Wesley Ray had been employed by Emerson Electric Company and was a member of Cross Way Church in Kennett. Survivors include his wife, Vurnylee Staggs Ray; three sons, Randy Ray & his wife, Rose of Kennett, Terry Ray of Poplar Bluff, Mark Ray & his wife, Maricel of Kennett; brother, Darrel Ray of Kennett, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Pauline Ray and a brother, David Ray. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Cross Way Church, 1840 Independence Circle, Kennett. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and continue until the time of service. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
