James Allan Benson

James Allan Benson, son of John (Dub) Benson and the late Juanita Bowling Benson, was born on Tuesday, September 15, 1959, in St. Louis, MO and departed this life on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Mercey Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau at the age of 64 years 7 months 5 days. Allan worked as an EMT and Paramedic for many years in Scott County, MO. He served in the United States Navy from 1978-1982. He will be remembered for his love of science fiction and for being an overachiever at anything he did. He learned to play the guitar at an age where he played in his school band, lettered in track & field, completed many home remodeling projects and built computers. Survivors include his father, John (Dub) Benson of Kennett; his sister, Robin Flood of Kennett; his brother, Greg Benson & his wife, Lisa of York, Maine and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in by his son, Matthew Benson, his mother, Juanita Benson, his sister, Lisa Benson, fraternal grandparents, Willard & Alceba Benson and maternal grandmother, Ophia Hartline. In honor of Allan's wishes, no services will be held. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
