Hercene Johnson, daughter of the late Levi Ford and Mary Lee Ford, was born on Monday, January 2, 1933, in Nitta Yuma, Mississippi and departed this life on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at NHC in Kennett at the age of 90 years, 2 months and 16 days. Hercene Johnson was a long-time employee of Twin Rivers Regional Hospital having retired after 30 years of service. At an early age she began her walk of faith at Northside Baptist Church in Kennett. She leaves to mourn her passing a daughter, Thelma (Earl) Johnson of Chicago, IL; sons, Leon (Jackie) Williams of Kennett, MO, Bobby Williams of Lansing, MI; sisters, Lucille Morgan, Willie Hudson, Ruby Warner, Earma Ford, Florine Ford, Hertisteine Ford-Washington; brothers, James (Jackie) Ford, Randy (Shirley) Ford, Levi Ford, Andrew (Debra) Ford; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; son-in-law, Leo White, and many longtime friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Roosevelt Williams; a daughter, Shirley Ann White; two brothers, Rayotha Ford, Levi Winters; three sisters, Juanita Pendleton, Bobbie Winters, Bland Winters. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett. Visitation will begin there at 12:00 p.m. and continue until the time of service. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
