Helen Childress

Helen Mae Childress (Kintome), daughter of the late Willie Charles Childress Sr, and Annie Sue Jones Childress, was born in Braggadocoa, Missouri on May 7, 1959. She departed this life on Saturday December 2, 2023 at Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 64 years. She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age. She leave to cherish in memory of her, three daughters; Latreasia Childress of Kennett, MO, Lashonda Childress of Kennett, MO, Kerbia Childress of Blytheville, AR, seven grandchildren, Destiny Monique Clark, Shaneisha Tre’shae Claark, X’Zayvion Sherman, Eniya Brown Royun Johnson, Ebony Brown, King Johnson, four brothers; Ed (Eddie) Childress of Caruthersville, MO, Willie Charles Childress, James Childress of Kennett, MO, Louis (Della) Childress of Kennett, MO, two sisters; Laura Rose of Bragg City, MO, Ester Childress of Kennett, MO, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She is proceeded in death by her parents; Willie Charles Childress Sr. and Annie Sue Childresss, three sisters; Gloria Dean Childress, Sarah Childress Mackfield, Alma Jean Jones, three brothers; Frank Childress, Bobby Joe Childress, Ellis Childress, and three grandsons; Ethan Lee, Evan Lee, and Javonte Lee. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother. Helen worked at Family Counseling Center in Kennett, MO. for 11 years, the she went on to work for Home Health Services for more than 5 years, before retiring. Helen enjoyed reading romance novels, mystery books, soap opera, news, wrestling, going to church, and was a great cook. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren….”She was a Loving Mother”, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at First Church in Kennett. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. and continue until time of services. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
