Hazel Jeanette Solis, daughter of the late Alvie Freeman and Willie Mae Bynum Freeman, was born on Tuesday, January 7, 1941, in Blytheville, AR and departed this life on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at NHC of Kennett at the age of 83 years 5 months 23 days. Hazel Jeanette Solis had worked at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti retiring after 30 years of service. After her retirement she volunteered as a caregiver at NHC of Kennett. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Kennett. She was united in marriage to Dionicio Solis. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2018. Survivors include her daughter, Donna Bradley & her husband, Doug of Kennett; step-daughter, Pam Tatum & her husband, Steve of Batesville, AR; granddaughter, Kaytie Bradley of Lake City, AR; grandson, Alex Bradley of Cape Girardeau; nieces, Linda Norton of Sikeston, Charlene Chambers of Sikeston, Karen Pell of Athens, TN, Dina Bortis of Blytheville, AR; nephews, Danny Freeman of St. Louis, Joey Wroten of Blytheville, AR, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett with Reverend Doug Clinton officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the time of service. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
