Gloria Childress, daughter of the late Willie Charles Childress and Annie Sue Jones Childress, was born on Saturday, March 29, 1947, in Newport, AR and departed this life on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at her residence in Kennett at the age of 75 years and 11 days. Ms. Gloria had a very special relationship with the God, whom she served. She loved calling His name everywhere she went. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sarah Jane Mackfield and Alma Jean Jones; three brothers, Ellis Chrildress, Bobby Joe Childress, & Frank Childress. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Maxine (Antonio) Agee, Victoria Childress, both of Kennett; four sons, Bennett Childress, Dennis (LaQuandra) Childress, Alan Childress, all of Kennett, Dewayne (Vanna) Childress of Kansas City, MO; three sisters, Laura Rose of Bragg City, Helen Childress, Ester Childress, both of Kennett; four brothers, Eddie (Eddie) Childress, Willie Childress, Louis (Della) Childress, all of Kennett; 39 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, two very special cousins, Mable Nelson & the late Willeen Covington, other relatives and many friends. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Kennett. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
