View Funeral Webcast Gerald Floyd Thompson, son of the late Johnny Thompson and Bertha Howard Thompson, was born on Thursday, March 19, 1942, in Conway, AR and departed this life on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at his residence at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 29 days. Gerald had worked as a brick layer for many years. On July 24, 1966, he was united in marriage to Linda Stroud. Survivors include his wife, Linda Thompson of the home in Holcomb; sons, Randy Thompson & his wife, Monica of Holcomb, Michael Thompson & his wife, Judy of Holcomb; daughters, Rebecca Kemp of Kennett, Dianna Wright & her husband, Jimmy of Kennett; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gene Thompson of Houston, MO, Marvin Thompson of Malden, Ronnie Thompson of Malden; sisters, Virginia Lipsey of Qulin, Maxine Head of Marian, IL; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jesse, Kenneth, George & Leonard Thompson; twin sisters, Freda Henson & Veda Ethington. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett with Reverend Philip Bartholmew officiating. Visitation will begin there at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
