Gerald Don Counts, son of the late Haskell Arnold Counts and Alpha Omega Hall Counts, was born on Sunday, November 19, 1950 in Kennett and departed this life on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 71 years and 5 days. Gerald Don Counts was a truck driver for UPS Freight having retired on November 7, 2014 after 35 years of service. He was a United States Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. Survivors include brother, Benny Counts of Piggott, AR; sisters, Margie Duke of Marmaduke, AR, Faye Ray of Kennett; special niece, Michelle Wynn of Paragould; great-nieces, Samantha Hale of Paragould, Kelsey Walton of Southaven, MS; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, J. C. Counts, Gale Counts, Basil "Bull" Counts and a sister, Carolyn Laverne Ellison. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett. Visitation will begin there at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
