James Frank Stuart

James Frank Stuart, son of the late Herman Stuart and Lillie McClanahan Stuart, was born on Monday, June 18, 1934, in Steele, Missouri and departed this life on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at his residence in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 92 years 2 months 7 days.

Frank lived a life marked by faith, steady work, and kindness to others. On December 30, 1954, in Hernando, Mississippi he was united in marriage to Carol Jean Ellis. She preceded him in death on April 24, 2017. During their life together, he worked for the Foushee Candy Company of Dexter, Missouri, where he gave many years of service before retiring. Those who knew Frank knew him as someone always willing to help anyone, and he was loved by all who knew him.

His faith was an important part of his life. Frank was a longtime member of the Slicer Street Church of Christ in Kennett, where he served as a deacon. He was also a helping hand to the Dorcas Group, offering his time and care in service to others and to his community.

He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory. He is survived by his sons, Michael Stuart and his wife Hazel of Mansfield, Missouri, Patrick Stuart and his wife Lana of West Plains, Missouri, and Joseph Stuart of Springfield, Missouri; by his daughters, Cindi Cotton and her husband Todd of Henderson, Tennessee, and Lee Ann Stuart of Springfield, Missouri; and by his brother, Ron Bray of Holland, Missouri, and his sister, Ruth Ann Hicks of Oakdale, Illinois.

Frank is also survived by a large and beloved extended family. His grandchildren include Curtis Stuart and his wife Katie, Timothy Stuart and his wife Hannah, Jessie Stuart and his wife JJ, Heather Johns and her husband Joey, Brandon Lansdawn and his wife Kassy, Wesley Stuart and his wife Dawn, Aimee Cotton, and Ashlee Clippard and her husband Jeffrey. His great-grandchildren include Brayden Stuart, Emmett Stuart, Brent Stewart, Dominic Stewart, Maveric Stuart, Jacob Rush, Cheyanne Hess, Maisy Clippard, Caroline Clippard, Ethan Johns and his wife Courtney, Casie Johns, Breanna Robbins and her husband Josh, Sophie Forgey and her husband Kyle, and Corban Lansdawn and his wife Tristen, with a new baby Stuart due in November. His family was a lasting source of joy and pride, and his memory will continue to live on through each of them.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Stuart, Paul Crawford, and Donnie Crawford, and by his sisters, Vivian Heathcock and Phyllis Taylor.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the Slicer Street Church of Christ in Kennett with Mr. Spencer Furby officiating.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the time of service.  Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.

James Frank Stuart will be remembered for his faithful service, his generous spirit, and the love he shared with his family, church, and friends. His life was a blessing, and his memory will be treasured by all who knew him.
