Frances Eades Gardner, daughter of the late John Lester Eades and Ora Mae Cates Eades, was born on Wednesday, June 17, 1931 in Formosa, AR and departed this life on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the Ouachita County Hospital in Camden, AR at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 26 days. In May of 1948 in Paragould, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to William Albert Gardner. He preceded her in death on August 15, 2012. Frances was an avid seamstress and baker. She taught sewing classes while assisting her husband in the mission fields in Africa and India. Frances was a model preacher's wife for 64 years. She taught Bible classes for the children and ladies' classes. She wrote several books for Christian Living for parents and children. Frances was a leader in making children's clothing to be used in the foreign mission field while residing at Harding Place Retirement Center in Searcy, AR for several years, making over one thousand dresses to be given away. Frances moved to Hampton, AR to be with two of her sons, Timothy and Michael. Together, they built her a tiny house in their backyard which she loved as she spent her last years. Survivors include sons, Timothy Gardner & his wife, Karen of Hampton, AR, Michael Gardner & his wife, Brenda of Hampton, AR, David Gardner & his wife, Lorri of Sage, AR; daughter, Ann Musgrave & her husband, Dave of Milford, OH; grandchildren, Melinda, Shane, Seth, Nicholas, Stephanie, Amber, Jessica, John, Paul, Marcus, Emory, Brenna; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brother, Jerry Eades & his wife, Michelle of Chattanooga, TN; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; her son, Bill; her two sisters, Mae Ruth Eades Faulkner & Dana Eades Batchelor and her brother, Carroll Eades. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett with Mr. Spencer Furby officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gardner India Fund, Dalriada Church of Christ, 3740 Atlanta Hwy, Montgomery, AL 36109 Powell Funeral & Cremations Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
