Eddie Burgess

Eddie Gene Burgess, son of the late Wilburn Eugene Burgess and Mary Emma Hamlett Burgess was born on March 12, 1951, at Holcomb and departed this life on October 13, 2025, at the age of 74 years 7 months and 2 days.

Carolyn and Eddie were married on February 10, 1969. Eddie was 17 and Carolyn was 15. Just babies their self. A lot of people said this marriage would not survive that they were too young but at Eddies death they had been married 56 years 8 months and 3 days and from this union there were two wonderful children.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Hensley Burgess of the home, son; Keith Wayne Burgess of Kennett, daughter; Kimberly Ann Burgess also of Kennett, grandchildren; McKenzi (Justin) Newlon of Kennett, Sydni (Thomas) Darnell of Kennett, Aubri (Cassey) Burgess of Kennett, Dylan Brand of Alton, MO, Lindsey McClemore of Kennett, great grandchildren; Jude Vandeventer, Montgomery Barnam, Jackie Newlon, Kelbi Darnell, Tate Darnell, Andi Darnell, Nelli Darnell all of Kennett, sisters; Vickie (Wallie) Sams, Joy Folkes, sisters-in-law; Barbara Burgess, Sharon (Clinton) Jumper, Arlene Hensley, Teresa (Randall) Vaughn, sixteen nieces and nephews, , and many friends and relatives.

Eddie is preceded in death by his parents Gene and Mary Burges, brother; R.D. (Bunt) Burgess, nephews; Jake Burgess, Bengamin Vaughn, Glen Folkes, Michael Hensley, mother-in-law; Aileen Hensley, brother-in-law; Dennis Hensley, Tommy Haywood, Bobby Folkes, sisters-in-law; Arleta Lebo, Venita Haywood, a very special friend Loran (Buzz) Weaver.

Memorial Services will be held at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 2:00pm. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and continue until service time.
