David Anthony Smith, son of Peggy Lou Cantwell Smith and Personal Eugene Smith, was born on Monday, August 16, 1982, in Memphis, TN and departed this life on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at his residence in Kennett at the age of 42 years 11 months 15 days. David loved his wife and family. He enjoyed Freddy Krueger, older country music and repairing computers, lawn mowers and cellphones. He was always willing to help anyone. On October 15, 2010, in Kennett he was united in marriage to Melody Maxcine Ragland. He is survived by his wife, Melody Maxcine Ragland-Smith; mother, Peggy Lou Cantwell Smith of Bay, AR; brothers, Ronald Smith & Danny Wayne Smith, both of Payneway, AR; sisters, Linda Garman & husband, Mike of Jonesboro, AR, Loretta Manness & husband, Kenny of Marmaduke, AR; very close family member, Randy Ray Rhineheart & wife, Kirstin of Bay, AR, a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 08/05/2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. and continue until the time of service. Burial will be in Senath Cemetery in Senath. Pallbearers will be Landon Ragland, Dawson Ragland, Larry Ragland, Bobby Ragland, Lirla Smith, and Chris Smith.
