David "Havoc" Sample

November 22, 1972 — July 15, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of, David “Havoc” Sample, who peacefully departed on July 15, 2025, at the age of 52 years in Kennett, Missouri. Havoc, son of Kenneth Sample and Debra McElwrath Sample, was born on Wednesday, November 22, 1972. He was an extremely loving and proud father to two daughters, Keona Madison Sample and Giavonna Noel Sample. Havoc dedicated over 20 years of his life to tattooing and building his legacy through his business, Wickedfast. His iconic shop, Havoc’s World Famous Ink Emporium, was more than just a tattoo parlor, it was a landmark. In the tattoo world, Havoc wasn’t just respected—he was admired. A true hustler, a sharp businessman, and one of the most passionate, driven artists the industry has ever known. He didn’t just leave a mark with his ink—he left a legacy. Too so many, he was the greatest to ever do it. Havoc was a truly wonderful man— always knew how to make you laugh, stubborn in the best way, and deeply loved by everyone who really knew him. He was INFAMOUS for trolling on Facebook, always stirring the pot with a belly roll laugh and landing in Facebook jail. Behind all the sarcasm and jokes, was a man with sharp wit and a huge heart. Above all else, he was so incredibly proud to be a father. His two daughters made up his entire world. Whether he was showing them off in a post or talking story about them in the shop, his love for those girls was undeniable. He bragged on them with pride, protected them fiercely, and always made sure they knew how much they meant to him. He didn’t just raise those two girls— he poured his heart and soul into them. He had a green thumb for the juiciest tomatoes and a soul that loved the moon and crystals and all things energy. He was always blasting his music and jamming. His love for music was also undeniable. He was tough, spiritual, loyal, hilarious, and had the kind of presence one never forgets and can only hope to embody. Havoc was one of a kind. His witty jokes, thoughtful advice, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We will carry his memories in our hearts and our ink forever. David Sample is survived by his children, Keona Madison Sample and Giavonna Noel Sample. He is also survived by his parents, Kenneth Sample and Debra Sample. He was preceded in death by his sister, Renee Nicole Anderson. Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at The Bridge, 14763 Josephine Drive in Kennett. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the time of service. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
