Charles Lester Harris A Life of Humor, Creativity, Ingenuity, and Generosity Charles Harris of Paragould, Arkansas departed this life on November 17, 2023, at the age of 89. He was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He married the love of his life, Shirlee J. Martin, in June 1953 and went on to raise three children. Charles took the opportunity to advance his career path and relocated to Blytheville, Arkansas. His unwavering work ethic led him to success as the founder of Bestway Metal Fabricators, Inc. Charles was best known for his quirky sense of humor, Bar-B-Q skills, handyman abilities, giving nature, and his passion for others to know the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Upon the death of his beloved wife Shirlee in 2014, Charles immersed himself in his passion for woodworking. Using only his creativity and ingenuity, Charles created over sixty wooden doll houses with some including spiral staircases and chandeliers. All were given away. He was featured in a Christmas edition of Premier Magazine with his seven-foot Eiffel Tower that took over 600 hours to create, a miniature Ark of the Covenant and Noah’s Ark. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Shirlee Harris. He is survived by his brother Kenneth Harris of Elsberry, Missouri. His children and their spouses, Steve Harris and Ginger (Evans) Harris of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Mike Harris and Helen (King) Harris of Wentzville, Missouri; Cindy (Harris) Crawford and Tim Crawford of Paragould, Arkansas. Five grandchildren, Christie Blessing, Bob Harris, Laura Holcomb, Jim Harris and Jenny Lucas and nine adoring great-grandchildren, Lillie, Harrison, Paige, Hayden, Colton, Macy, Havana, Jake, and Stella, along with many more family members and dear friends.
