Bobby (Dad) Joe Nelson, Jr.

Bobby (Dad) Joe Nelson, Jr., son of Bobby Lockridge and the late Deneatha Ann Lovelady, was born Tuesday, May 2, 1978 in Kennett and departed this life Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at NHC of Kennett at the age of 41 years, 9 months and 9 days. He was preceded in death by his mother, Deneatha Lovelady; grandmother, Annestine Jones; aunt, Jo Ann Jones and cousins, Akeem Nelson and Danny Thomas. He grew up in the Portageville area (BB Highway) where he was encompassed by his sibling cousins throughout his life. He attended North Pemiscot School, but later moved to Kennett as a young adult in his late teen years. He lived a harmless life and would do anything for those he loved and cared about. He truly loved his family and friends wholeheartedly Dad leaves to morn: his father, Bobby Lockridge of Caruthersville; grandfathers, Jesse Jones of Chicago, IL and Frank Stewart of Kennett; sisters, Yolanda Ford of Blytheville, AR, Tamika Garden of Hayti, MO and Claudine Lockridge of Caruthersville, MO. Also surviving are his siblings/cousins, Shaunta Jones and Adam Nelson, both of Kennett, Lowerstine Nelson and Marcus Nelson of Poplar Bluff, MO, Annastine Nelson-Davis of Jonesboro, AR and Frank Jones, Jr. of Madison, WI. He was also survived by several very close cousins, cousins, aunts and uncles. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Powell Funeral Chapel, Kennett. Cremation will follow. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, 1811 Southwest Drive, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
