View Funeral Webcast Benny Lee Turner, son of the late Earnest and Bessie Lee Copeland Turner, was born on Thursday, November 1, 1956 in Kennett and departed this life on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti at the age of 64 years, 11 months and 6 days. He was united in marriage to Christine Shavers on September 4, 1988 in Kennett. Survivors include wife, Christine Turner of the home in Kennett; sons, Robert Hersey, Jr. & wife, Toshi of Kennett and Eric Hersey of Pensacola, FLorida; daughters, RaShava Shavers and Kimberly Hersey, both of Kennett; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Crump of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and 3 sisters. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett. Visitation will begin there at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
