Ben E. Byrd, Sr., son of the late William E. Byrd and Emma Belle Cash Byrd was born on Wednesday, July 5, 1939, in Kennett and departed this life on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at the Campbell Health Care & Senior Living Center in Campbell at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 17 days. Ben E. Byrd, Sr., was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a Cotton Broker and member of the First Christian Church in Kennett. He was united in marriage to Emma Louise Strawther in December of 1957. She preceded him in death on August 2, 2022. Survivors include two sons, Ben Byrd, Jr. & his wife, Amy of Brentwood, TN and Steve Byrd & wife, Lana of Kennett; grandchildren, Madison, Mallory, Christian, Braden & Ryan Byrd; brothers, William E. "Tony" Byrd & his wife, Robin of Kennett and Harlan Byrd of Poplar Bluff; sister, Jo Beth Ennis of St. Simons Island, GA, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Emma Louise Byrd. Graveside Service will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett with Reverend Susan Barton officiating. Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
